The Hohenfels Training Area in the German state of Bavaria is the heart of the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) and one of the most important manoeuvre training grounds of the US forces in Europe. The rolling hill country — with elevations between roughly 400 and 620 metres — is broken up by mixed forest, open fields and narrow valleys, making it ideally suited to large-scale force-on-force exercises.
