Fort Moore, known as Fort Benning until 2023, sits in western Georgia on the border with Alabama. It is home to the Maneuver Center of Excellence, where the US Army trains its infantry and armor units. Generations of American soldiers began their military careers here.
The terrain consists of rolling hill country with dense pine forests, scattered riverbeds and open training fields for maneuver and live-fire exercises. For recording positions, targets and movements across this varied landscape, MGRS is the military standard because it works quickly and unambiguously in the field. On this page you'll find the MGRS zone, terrain features and an interactive map and 3D view.
